I love the work you guys have done already. My friends and I still really enjoy doing LAN parties, as well as coworkers doing lunch games. I think extended LAN support would be awesome!

Currently our setup is:
  1. Use a reference list of Ports and IPs of other players
  2. Launch the game with the launcher to login, get our login tokens and xlive.ini's updated with settings
  3. Exit the launcher (and never use it again until a new update)
  4. Copy the IP of the host to our xlive.ini
  5. Check we aren't using the same Ports (only do this once)
  6. Disable the firewall (only do this once)
  7. Launch the game from Halo.exe
  8. Connect to each others games
This sometimes doesn't work, and we even ran into a problem where our accounts were all broken, so we stopped playing for almost a year.

I think that if we were given greater freedom with editing the xlive.ini through the launcher, like setting a host IP to connect to, we could really expedite these steps and take full advantage of the different settings the launcher has.

Thanks!
George
