EXTREME GAME LAG?

Hey guys, I am JUST TRYING TO PLAY SINGLE PLAYER, yet I cant. The menu is flawless with 0 lag though whenever I enter the game I can BARELY move the mouse it lags so damn hard.

My specs are overkill:

i7-8700k
GTX 1080 TI
16GB DDR4 RAM


Please tell me what I can do. What I have tried:

Disabling fullscreen optimizations
ran in compatability with vista (all versions)
tried changing cpu priority and afinities

WHY IS THE GAME LAGGING SO BAD ON A MONSTER PC?

because you turned off the fps limiter and now halo 2 is running at 700 fps, thereby breaking it. Limit FPS to 60. Yes 60. That's what the game was designed for

First off, thanks for that, now.. why is the sensitivity so damn low? i've tried changing it.. just doesnt do shit

did that, put sensitivity to 10 and its OKAY now but it just feels like the game is somehow slow in some way, like it's getting perfect FPS but for some reason something feels slow and off

Download the HALO2ShaderOverride.zip file

Extract the files to Halo 2 directory, they are d3d9.dll and ShaderOveride (folder).
