You should try selling that WWII Bunker to a museum Kantanamo...you might be able to make a quick buck!

I use the Asus EVO as well Creator. Very kick ass reliable board. My only issue as of late when playing games, is my CPU. I need to grab a liquid cooling block for it.

Camp, have you tried opening up the Nvidia Control Panel, and taken a look at what settings by default, your Nvidia Driver Service is using for Halo 2? I know some games by default are listed to use certain settings by the driver, and maybe you can take a look and see if that is screwing anything up. I would hate to think your card is toasting itself. Them GPU's aint so cheap now or days...

Okay, just messed around with the settings a bit. I turned on Vsync, turned off a few things to make the game performance higher, and allowed the game to take advantage of multiple cores. I shall test now.

EDIT: Thought it was going perfect then suddenly.. A WILD LAG APPEARS. I'm out of ideas. Tried everything except troubleshooting the RAM. It must be the RAM. It's old RAM and worn out or something and that must be the problem.

EDIT2: I have come up with another possible answer. It can't be the RAM or anything hardware related since my other games work perfectly.
Halo 2 is NOT compatible with Windows 7 64 bit.. Before I restarted my OS, I was running Win7 32 bit, and had no lag problems. Creator, since you are having the same problem as me, could you please tell me what operating system you are running. If you are running 64 bit win7, then it must be the OS. If not, I am truly out of answers.

Nice! I actually just helped out a friend of mine with a case similar to that (his was red), good choice!

I know my hardware is different but I run H2V on Win7 64-bit.......maybe some of the files in H2V is corrupt?

Just in case anyone was wondering (my computer specs):
Case: Antec 1200

I Run windows 7 64 bit.

But I don't think it's the OS. It has to do with how the grapics card handles this particulair game I think. Just because onther games work fine doesn't mean this game and this grapics card can't have problems togerther.

Its not Win 7 or 64-bit that is the problem. I've run H2V on every major Win OS (my rat keeps getting on my KB lol), every major Win OS since Vista 32-bit through Win 8 64-bit including Server 2008 32 and 64-bit. The only one I have not tried it with is Windows Server 2012.

When I installed H2V on Win8 it said it was not compatible yet it worked without any further problems. I do not believe the OS is the issue in your case, at all.

Did you try testing a single stick or RAM? As Twin said; it could also be the GPU or CPU.

I didn't test with 1 stick of RAM. It will crash my computer. According to my Logitech Performance Monitor, I am using up 50% of my total RAM without playing Halo 2. It'll just be a waste of time. My best bet is memtest. I'm just looking around for a spare USB to use since memtest is a bootdisk.

"Fuck it, just throw it out the window across the world and into my lap."

Actually, this old PC I will still use when I get my new one. My brother and I have the same PC. He just upgraded about a month ago. So, we are going to gather the parts from our old PCs and build a new one. This time, we will SLI since they are both Intel computers. Then this computer will go to our grandparent's house.

Windows since Vista addresses memory differently. The OS does not need to use the entire 2GBs of RAM, but it can if it is available. If you take out the other 2GB it should work just fine unless your PC requires two sticks to run in dual channel mode, some PCs are weird about that or which rails you are using. Just make sure you are grounded and everything is unplugged. I use a screw-driver and put it on the ground, then I keep an uncovered foot on it.

Anyways this is a quick way to eliminate RAM as a suspect.

I wish I could play h2v at 6ofps, I'm lucky if it runs at 20fps on this laptop.... When I see scrapy's pc run it... I cry a little inside then go hook up xbox and play it at 30fps and feel good again.
