screen zoomed very far in once game is loaded

So this game rocks, I was sad when the servers went down.
anyway,
I use to be able to play this mod, on this same pc, with identical hardware, excluding a HDD upgrade. But now I can't
I tried a few months ago, and gave up trying to figure it out.
Now I've come to you guys.
The game will launch normal, menus are normal, server browser is normal,
but once I'm loaded into a game, multiplayer, or campaign, the screen is super zoomed in!

Like... 50x sniper zoom!

everything is distorted, an opponents head from I would assume is not very far away, fills the entire screen.

I have tried the following...

Update GPU drivers

Uninstalled, and reinstalled the game with a fresh file from the server

Played with all sorts of resolutions ( still at 60hz ) from 600x800 to 1920x1080

windowed mode, and full screen.


I have a dual monitor setup, but had it exactly this way the last time the game ran fine.
Any help or suggestions is appreciated.

have you tried playing with the fov slider in the advanced cartographer menu -- pull it up with the home button. It sounds like your fov is set to something unreasonably low. The default is 72 -- some people like it higher.

hah, turns out the beta gpu drivers were to blame.
reverted to regular release drivers and it fixed it up.
Thanks for the quick input fellas.
I had messed with FOV before too, that was one of my first assumptions.
