Sounds and Footsteps

I feel like these sounds are missing most of the time, often not noticed when there are mostly weapon and explosion sounds... When there are no guns or grenades its very clear other peoples footsteps are just not there. Anyone have a solution to this?

I guess raising your volume might work (if you wanna hear more footsteps) But there's no mod or option to make the sound of footsteps more defined AFAIK
