Unhandled Exception Error at launch

Hey everyone, I tried to search the forum for similar issues first, but couldn't find another case of this happening. I'm also not very tech-savvy and realize this is probably a simple fix=/

The game worked and ran perfectly yesterday on my laptop with Windows 10, and suddenly started giving me an error message at launch. The first thing I tried doing is reinstalling the launcher, but it didn't work. And the error occurs after the launcher displays it's final text of "no updates available".

It says: "Unhandled exception has occured in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore the error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately. One or more errors occured."

It also provides details:

Mine does the same thing. If I click Continue it stays on the "Checking for Updates" screen so I never can get to the launcher settings.
